2019 Holiday Baseball Camps

 

        The Eastern Michigan Baseball staff is pleased to offer their

2019 Holiday Baseball Camps! 

 

These camps will be held on the turf in the state of the art St. Joe's Sports Dome at Eastern Michigan University.

 

All-Skills Camp

Grades K-6

Saturday, December 21st and Sunday, December 22nd

9am-12 noon

$100 two-day

Includes instruction in all areas of the game including hitting, pitching, baserunning and defensive position fundamentals while offering the opportunity to play live games on the turf in the

St. Joe's Sports Dome at Eastern Michigan.

 

Hitting Camp

                                                                            Grades 7-12

Sunday, December 22nd

1pm-3:30pm

$70 per session

This camp is focused on the instruction of the proper fundamentals of hitting.  Campers will learn the hitting approach, techniques and drills used by the EMU coaching staff. 

 

Position Fundamental Camp:  Pitching, Catching, and Infield Play

Grades 7-12

Sunday, December 22nd

4:30pm-7pm

$70 per session

This camp focuses on the instruction of defensive position fundamentals in the areas of pitching, catching and infield play.  Campers will learn the philosophy of each position along with the techniques and drills used by our EMU coaching staff.  In addition, the camp will include simulated games

on the turf in the state of the art St. Joe's Sports Dome at Eastern Michigan University.

Ages 7 - 14       Dates:  July 8 - July 12, 2019
Times:  9 am - 2 pm
Fee $145 for members of Canton Leisure Services/Summit
        $155 Canton Residents
        $160 Non -Residents (includes Plymouth)

Where:  Canton Sports Center
                46555 Michigan Avenue
                Canton, MI     (behind High Velocity and Artic Edge - where Kicker's is).

These popular camps will emphasize drills and skills that cover offensive strategies and defensive plays.  In addition, agility and sport specific training will be covered.  Participants should pack a sack lunch and water bottle.

 HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION:


The 2019 camp offers instruction from the following coaches:  Mark Blomshield-Head Baseball Coach, (Western Michigan University) ,  Cos Delapaz (Wayne State), Jim Wisniewski  (Central Michigan University/ South Alabama University), Anthony Holyszko (Western Michigan University), Seth Tschetter (Olivet Nazarene), Marc Szalka (CMU), Brent Mattson (Eastern Michigan) as well as current players in the Canton Baseball Program. 


The camp includes three days of group and individual instruction in all phases of the game including: Scrimmages,  Throwing, Fielding, Hitting, Base Running, Pitching and Baseball Specific Exercises for improving Arm Strength, Speed and Agility.


Note: Concession stand is open for drinks and assorted snacks.

DETROIT TIGERS BASEBALL SOFTBALL CAMPS
The Detroit Tigers are proud to announce the inaugural season of the NEW Detroit Tigers Baseball and Softball Camps.  This camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 - 14.    The week long camp will be held August 5 - 9, 2019 from 9 am to 3pm.   Canton at the Canton Sports Center located at 46555 W. Michigan Avenue (the softball fields behind Artic Edge and High Velocity).   

Cost is $395 per child.  If you register two or more children from the same family, each will save $25.  There is a $25 early bird discount, if you register prior to April 1, 2019.

Plymouth Wildcats  High School - 2019 Youth Baseball Clinic 

The Plymouth Wildcats Youth Clinic is designed for aspiring ball players who want to improve their skills for the 2019 season and beyond. The clinic will focus on age-appropriate skill development in a positive and fun, learning environment. Clinic attendees will receive instruction from Plymouth Wildcats Baseball coaches and 2019 Plymouth Wildcats players. Topics covered will include the Plymouth approach to:

Hitting Pitching Infield Outfield Catching - *All clinic attendees will receive radar gun readings!*


What: Session 1: Boys and Girls 1st -4th grade  Saturday, March 16, 2019 9:00 – 12:00pm

Session 2: Boys and Girls 5th-8th grade             Saturday, March 16, 2019 1:00 – 4:00pm

Where: Plymouth High School Gymnasium. Follow main entrance drive to the back of the school. Signs will be posted. Main entrance on East side of Beck between Joy and Warren.

Cost: $45 which includes a snack, drink, and T-Shirt (limited sizes). Additional Plymouth Wildcats spirit wear will be available for purchase. In case of cancellation or change in venue, parents will be contacted via the email address provided by parent.

Campers will need to bring a baseball glove, bat, gym shoes (no cleats in the gymnasium), and wear a baseball hat. A labeled water bottle and protective sports cup are recommended.

Check In: 8:30 am for the early session and 12:30 pm for the afternoon session. There will be a check in table set up just inside the gym entrance.

US Baseball Academy Camp coming to Plymouth Chrisitan Academy

This is a unique concept that provides young players an opportunity to take their game to the next level.  USBA camps are designed to develop skills in all facets of the game with an emphasis on teaching proper fundamentals and techniques.  Sessions are available in hitting, pitching, fielding and catching.

*Sessions for grades 1 - 12 include six hours of instruction in one skill for as low as $139.  Add a second skill for $109 and a third skill for $69.

* A national baseball program with a local touch operated by Joe Bottorff, Head Coach, Plymouth Christian Academy, and his staff.

* With a low player to coach ratio, each player gets plenty of individual attention in a small-group atmosphere.

Youth Baseball Academy is run through Plymouth Canton Community Education. In this program, participants will learn fundamentals of baseball and engage in game play with two experienced high school baseball coaches.

Sessions are broken down by grade level. Sessions begin 1/14/19 and conclude on 2/25/19.  There will be no sessions on 1/21/19 or 2/18/19.

Select 370A for Kindergarten and 1st Grade session, which will be held from 6 -7 pm at Liberty Middle School.
Select 370B for 2nd and 3rd Grade session, which will be held from 7 - 8 pm at Liberty Middle School.

Costs are $75 for residents/$85 for non-residents.

Instructors are Coaches Bryan Boyd and Marc Szalka.
