2018

Youth Baseball Academy ran by Plymouth Canton Community Education will be holding two classes. The classes will start on Wednesday, January 31st and will run for five weeks in the Liberty Middle School gym. The first class is for 1st and 2nd graders from 6 to 7 pm and the second class is for 3rd and 4th graders from 7 - 8 pm. The cost is $75 each. Instructors are Coach Bryan Boyd and Coach Marc Szalka (both have high school level and younger level coaching experience).

The PITCH located in Canton will be hosting four days of softball fundamental camps this January 2018. The first Saturdays will focus on hitting and bunting techniques with the last 2 Saturdays focus on infield and outfield positions. Base-running, speed & agility and other softball key concepts will be focused on at all 4 days of camps. The camp will be run by Devon Kelly whom was a 4 year NCAA Student-Athlete at the University of Detroit Mercy, has over 15 years of coaching high school and college softball, and experienced in personal lessons and instruction of all age levels.

Hitting Camp - 11 am - 12:00 pm - January 7, and January 14, 2018

Fielding Camp - 11 am - 12:00 pm - January 21 and January 28, 2018

Ages 9 - 13 years old. Space is limited to 12 player. Camp Fee is $65.00 for all four weeks or $20.00 per day. You must pre-register. To do so, contact Jeremy Christianson at jchristianson@wowway.com 734-564-7149

2018

The Lab (formerly known as Great Lakes Baseball) will also be offering group lessons on Sundays starting in January 2018.

The price will be $60 for 4 weeks of 1 hour sessions. Four girls to a group. Pitching and hitting will be worked on during these sessions. Sessions will offered Sunday mornings and early afternoon.

Lessons will be run by trainer Samantha Cain.

SAMANTHA CAIN

SOFTBALL PITCHING INSTRUCTOR

Coach Cain played for Finesse travel team for five years in which she helped her team to two elite eight finishes as well as one third place finish in nationals. A 2008 graduate of Kennedy High School, she set the record for most strikeouts in a year with 230, compiled a 55-22 record her first three years, had 15 homeruns and 62 runs heading into senior year. She served as softball team captain for two years. Coach Cain is currently a pitcher for the Wayne State University softball team. Last year the team won the GLIAC league, as well as regionals and super regionals to advance to the World Series where they finished in the final eight at the NCAA Division II World Series. Coach Cain is also a member of the Midland Lady Explorers 23u team who won the 2010 World Series in Peoria, Illinois.

WHEN: June 19 - June 22 (M-TH), 9:30 am – 2:00 pm.

WHO: Ages 6 – 14 (Limited Number of Campers- REGISTER EARLY)

HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION:

The 2017 camp offers instruction from the following coaches with college and pro baseball playing backgrounds: Mark Blomshield-Head Baseball Coach, (Western Michigan University), Cos Delapaz (Wayne State), Jim Wisniewski (Central Michigan University/ South Alabama University), Anthony Holyszko (Western Michigan University), Seth Tschetter (Olivet Nazarene), Brent Mattson (Eastern Michigan) as well as current players in the Canton Baseball Program.

The camp includes four days of group and individual instruction in all phases of the game including: Throwing, Fielding, Hitting, Base Running, Pitching and Baseball Specific Exercises for improving Arm Strength, Speed and Agility.

Note: Concession stand is open for drinks and assorted snacks.

Plymouth Wildcats Baseball 2017 Spring Classic

The Plymouth Wildcat Youth Baseball Clinic is designed for young aspiring ball players who want to improve their skills for the 2076 season and beyond. The clinic will focus on age appropriate skill development in a positive, fun, learning environment. Clinic attendees will receive instruction from the Plymouth Wildcat baseball staff and 2017 Plymouth Wildcat players.

Session 1: Boys & Girls entering Grades 1st - 4th Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Session 2: Boys & Girls entering Grades 5th - 8th Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Location is Plymouth High School Gymnasium. Cost is $45 includes snack, drink and T-shirt (limited sizes). Additional Plymouth Wildcat spirit wear will be available for purchase.

Campers need to bring baseball glove, bat, gym shoes (no cleats allowed in gym) and wear a baseball cap. A labeled water bottle and protective cup recommended.

Check In is 30 minutes prior to your scheduled session.

Registration deadline is March 10, 2017. Register by Feb 28, 2017 to ensure correct t-shirt size is ordered.
